About:
When not in front of a computer all day, you can usually find Darren outside on his mountain bike riding dirt trails during the nice weather. When the weather turns, the mountain bike is replaced by a movie and a bowl of popcorn. Photography has also been a long time passion of Darren's ever since a shoe box camera he made while a freshman in high school. Although digital photography is the new rage, if given a darkroom, black and white film photography would win out over digital. Darren is a lifetime resident of Oswego, Illinois and although he now lives in Yorkville, he still considers it Oswego since that is what MapQuest says. Darren was married in June 2007 to his wife Erin who he met while in high school.
Work Experience:
While in high school, Darren Fox worked part-time at a local retail store plus two summer jobs; one at the Yorkville Park District and the other was at Reflections by Tracy Photography of Shorewood, Illinois. He also worked as a graphic designer for a Naperville based sign company. In his beginning years at college, he was a free-lance web designer creating various artwork for everything ranging from logo designs to full web site creations. Darren did this up until March of 2005 when he was acquired by Weblinx, Inc. to head up their web design department.
Education:
Darren graduated from Oswego High School in May of 2001. While attending OHS, he played football his freshman year and varsity volleyball his senior year. He then went on to attend Waubonsee Community College where he graduated as a Phi Theta Kappa member with two Associate Degrees; Digital Design (December 2004) and Web Authoring (May 2005). While still a student at WCC, he was given the opportunity to design the school's Business Competition web site for in-district high schools. Darren has also returned to WCC as a repeat guest speaker on the subject of web design and internet marketing.
